Listen to your Body Alarm

Are you aware of your body alarm? Do you know what it is? It is that inner voice that warns you when you are in danger.

Case in point: With all of these protests going on and with the best intentions in mind. You(hypothetically) receive an invite to attend a peaceful protest, but your inner voice is screaming, “don’t go!” Would you go?

I, for one, am a firm believer in listening to that inner voice, your body alarm! If you listen to it and are in tune with it, most times, it will save your life, but so many individuals don’t listen to the inner voice.

Let me share a story of something that occurred to me while waiting for the ‘D’ Train in New York City. I was seventeen at the time. I was on the platform waiting for my train when I felt as though someone was watching. I was standing where the last car of the train would stop. My gut was telling me to move towards the other passengers. I proceeded to walk as the train began to enter the station. The doors open, and once I boarded, this man came out of nowhere began to yell at me, saying, ” next time I will f…you!” He must have been hiding because I did not see him.

The moral of the story, if I did not listen to my inner voice, the outcome would have been different.

Next time you hear that inner voice make sure you give it a listen! It will save your life!
